NATURAL DYED FABRICS - This class offers many methods for dying your fabrics using only what nature has to offer. However, unlike our ancestors who had to dig for bugs or clay and hunt for berries all day just to dye a small swatch we can select from the bountiful isles of our grocer's shelves and in many cases what you already have right in your own cubbard! Find out how low cost natural products can yeild beautiful results with little mess and little fuss.
BATIK RESIST - Batik is an ancient Japanese process of applying hot wax to fabric. Fabric is then dyed, causing the areas that are covered by wax to resist the dye while the exposed areas receive the marvelous color. The process continues by adding another layer of wax and another layer of dye until the piece reaches the desired effect. When the wax is removed the mystery is revealed and a beautiful, one of a kind piece of fabric is yours to quilt, sew, frame, or drape.
